Reel Poster Gallery
Profile
In some instances, a film's original release date varies from one country to another. For example, Citizen Kane (1941) was first released in Spain in 1966. The original Spanish poster is therefore dated 1966 as opposed to 1941. Similarly, Gilda (1946) was not released in Italy until 1947 and the original Italian poster is also from 1947. Such discrepancies in date are usually the result of war prohibitions or paper shortages. In these instances, we give the original release date of the film even though the poster in question may have been designed and issued a few years later.
