About Us
At Bentley Wood High School for Girls we are proud of our fine record of academic achievement within our safe, caring, stimulating environment where pupils learn happily and well. We encourage each girl to develop a wide range of skills and interests, to achieve her personal best and to work co operatively with consideration for all members of our learning community at all times. We believe that working closely with parents and pupils we have developed an educational environment which results in happy, mature and successful young women able and willing to meet the challenges of the 21st century with confidence.
Our Aims and Achievements
Bentley Wood High School aims to establish a co-operative and stimulating environment in which pupils can learn happily and well. We value all members of the school community equally, seek to develop their skills and abilities, and encourage them to contribute to all areas of school life. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for each pupil which will help her achieve her best, develop her confidence and encourage her to be a thoughtful, active member of society.We consider that our aims for our pupils are best achieved through a close partnership between school and home, and we work together with parents to ensure their daughters' success.
Curriculum
We aim to treat each pupil as an individual with particular needs of her own. Irrespective of ability all pupils follow the school curriculum and are encouraged to learn from each other in a co-operative and stimulating atmosphere. Pupils who
have special educational needs are assisted by skilled learning assistants who work alongside subject teachers to allow all pupils access to the curriculum. Pupils of marked aptitude are encouraged to develop their skills and abilities in all areas of the school curriculum. Bentley Wood aims to provide a broad, balanced education which encourages pupils to develop their individual abilities and achieve their full potential in all areas of the curriculum. We are proud of our excellent tradition of academic success which has been achieved as a result of the dedication of our staff and pupils
who work together with enthusiasm and commitment. Bentley Wood High School was designated a specialist Mathematics and Computing College in September 2005.
